All grades:
Vocabulary Lesson 26 is due April 13, so there is no vocabulary until after exams.
All Quarter 3 independent reading books should be completed over the break. Be prepared to be tested on your book on Tuesday, April 6.
8th: Complete the NJASK practice. Explore research topics and get informed about 3 topics from the list provided in class. Fill in the worksheet. Choose one. Also, be prepared for the TKAM Socratic Seminar on Wednesday, April 7. Learnia is scheduled for April 8.
7th: Congratulations on an amazing Wax Museum! You brought personality, enthusiasm, and knowledge to the entire Cranbury School community. Bravo! NJASK practice over break. Read pp. 203-243 in TANGERINE.
6th: NJASK practice packet. Read Ch. 7-12 in HOOT. Complete the next 3 areas of research for your endangered species: Habitat, Behavior & Diet. Fill in all pages for these sections.

8th: TKAM Literary Portfolios are due Wed March 24. Also, the Socratic Seminar will be held on Friday. Please prepare a notecard with your support and evidence for the seminar questions.
7th: Prepare for your role play performance in class tomorrow. This is your final "rehearsal". All the parents will be viewing your performances on Thursday night at 7pm. Complete the NJASK practice "Lost and Found".
6th: Complete the first page of the notetaking packet for your "endangered species" research paper. Paraphrase, don't copy!!!!

6, 7, & 8: Study for vocabulary test on Lessons 23 & 24 tomorrow!

8th: Work on your literary portfolios for TKAM. Deadline: Tuesday March 23.
7th: Wax Museum memorization !!! Role play your famous person and make him/her come alive!
A well-rehearsed role play will reduce stage fright.
6th: second page of "Sentence Combining" practice packet. We will complete the Big Yellow Taxi handout in class tomorrow.

8th: finish reading TKAM by Wednesday March 17. Complete conflict analysis worksheet on assigned character by tomorrow.
7th: Finish final draft by Wednesday. We will begin to hear rehearsed speeches on Friday for all the students who are ready to present their role plays to the class.
6th: Complete p. 1 of the "sentence combining" practice packet, and the "Not all Lockers are Created Equal" reading comprehension practice worksheet.

7th GRADE WAX MUSEUM: Final drafts due 3/17, Memorized speeches: 3/ 22, Poster: 3/ 23..

Required: attach first draft, peer editor's sheet, preliminary outline, teacher comment sheet, cover sheet and Works Cited page.
8th: Read Ch. 20-24 in TKAM. We will review trial scenes and advance our discussion tomorrow.
7th: Complete your Wax Museum speeches. Follow the directions carefully on the handout.
Part 2 in Tangerine will be due Monday.
6th: No HW tonite. However, I need pix of Cranbury School, the lake, downtown, your playgrounds around town, stuff for the book we are sending to Lungulu, Uganda - our sister school. Enjoy the spring weather! :)

7th: Complete the "Character Class: 101" handout tonight.
6th: Print out or bring in pictures of Cranbury. We need these to send to our sister school in Uganda. We will create our "Introduction to Cranbury" scrapbook and send it this week. Also, finalize your projects and be ready to present your projects in class tomorrow. You will need your music on a CD in you are in the "Watsons" music groups.

7th: print an encyclopedia article on the assigned "science" topic for Tangerine.
6th: Please review your packets to prepare for the reading unit test on African American novel: either "Watsons" or "Roll of Thunder" reading groups. Projects are due Tuesday March 9.

7th: The "Works Cited" page is due tomorrow. Use the checklist to review all formatting rules. This is a separate graded assignment.
8th: Read Ch. 13-17 by Monday March 8. Diary Entry for Scottsboro Trial is due Thurs March 4. Holocaust Survivor, Judith Sherman will be talking to our classes on Friday, March 5.

ALL Black History Assignments for grades 6 & 7 are due on Friday, March 5. A final grade will be given for these assignments.
