Congratulations to all the 7th and 8th graders! You completed another NJASK Test! Bravo!
8th: Write 250 words. There are 2 parts to this assignment. This counts as a double quiz grade for "Troy" (30 pts). Part 1: Summarize an event from "DATELINE: Troy" Part 2: Describe the modern day parallel (use a news story in the book and do further research into the incident if necessary)
7th: Read Ch. 1-7 in "Where the Red Fern Grows" by Tuesday. I will be checking your list of vivid verbs from the listening activity, as well as the graphic organizer on Monday. You should also be able to show your team work from Friday's class with Ms. Pankowitz. P.S. I missed you guys this week! :(
6th: Get a good night's rest all week. We will watch the film "Hoot" next week. Good Luck on the NJASK! Do your VERY VERY best!!!

8th: Continue working on the notecards for your research paper. On Thursday afternoon, I will check notecards and collect the revised outlines. All outlines must be revised. The second outline will also count as a quiz grade. Vocabulary 27/28 quiz is tomorrow afternoon.
7th: Study for the vocabulary quiz on Lesson 28. The vocabulary quiz is Friday, April 30.
6th: As class begins on Thursday, I will check for 3 completed paragraphs on your research paper. The next paragraph will be due at the end of the period. Study Vocabulary 27/28, the QUIZ is tomorrow, Thurs. April 29.

8th: 30 notecards are due on Tuesday. Read the poem and complete the questions on "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud".
7th: Read the poem entitled "Check" and fill in the worksheets.
6th: Write the "Recycling Matters" poem. Type it. Include your name and the date. Give the poem an original title. Write the first paragraph of the body of your research report on the physical characteristics of your chosen species.

8th: Outlines are due by 8am Friday morning. You can use email to send it, if necessary. 30 Notecards are due on Tuesday, April 27. Complete the poetry questions "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud" by Monday.
7th: Respond in paragraph form to the first journal topic in "Where the Red Fern Grows".
6th: If you were absent today, please attend the test make-up at 7:45 am tomorrow morning in Rm. 64. Complete the "Check" poem response sheets after reading the poem twice!

Congratulations to everyone for your hard work and effort at the Cranbury School Science Expo!
8th: Sentence Outlines for the research paper are due at the end of the day tomorrow. Read your research articles tonight and prepare your rough outline. Use the teacher example handout as a format for your outline.
7th: Complete the poem comparison worksheet "Star" and "Night" by Teasdale. Also, complete the "The Jacket" packet questions after reading the passage.
6th: Study for the HOOT test. Test is tomorrow! Complete your teamwork packet neatly and thoroughly. You will be graded for neatness and effort. I expect to see "excellence" every day, starting TODAY!!!
