Double space, and center align your photo, title and author's name.

8th Grade: Prepare 3 notecards with bulleted notes to participate in the Socratic Seminar during which we will discuss the major themes in Flowers for Algernon. Use the question sheet, choose 3 questions to focus on.

7th grade: Study for Glossary word quiz. Read Ch. 9 -11, fill out motive graphic organizer. Answer Question # 20, in study guide packet.

8th: Write about your position on a controversial "science" or technology topic from anytime in history. In other words, does science always advance mankind in a moral way? Examples: stem cell research, cloning, birth control, in vitro fertilization, surrogacy, etc. (100 words)

7th: Fill in your onion diagram with examples of all the ways that different things in our culture influence you and choose one and just write 100 words about how it influences you. Also, start to study your Glossary of Terms from the 3 Cups of Tea packet.

6th: Read the first three pages of the packet "Text Features". Complete the multiple choice questions on the last page. In this packet you will learn about how textbooks help you LEARN better by making things on the page stand out. You will learn about "Text Features" and how they focus your attention on the important things in a textbook.

8th: Complete at least the first page of the "Multiple Intelligences" packet, you can finish it completely the packet you want to. Complete the blocks on the "characterization chart" that you started in your teams on Friday.

7th: Complete the Vocabulary Practice (using LECT) handout. Read the Foreward by Dr. Jane Goodall, and the Introduction. Be ready to discuss your reading.

6th: No HW, but you can work ahead and finish Vocabulary Unit 2, due Tuesday.

Sorry for the late posting of the HW! We are experiencing some security issues which are currently interfering with my ability to post the homework from the school building. I didn't get home until a few minutes ago!

8th grade: Rorschach research sheet -- Fill in complete sentences in YOUR OWN WORDS!

7th grade: No HW

6th grade: Imagine you are going to tell the reader the story of your life. Your first paragraph will introduce the setting to the reader. So you need to make the reader feel as though they can visualize your environment, time period, weather, etc. ....whatever you think is important about your little world. Write this in the style of a story that begins for example: "My small town is lined with trees and little shops." You could also focus on the inside of your bedroom, but just focus on SOMEWHERE! !! :) (100 words)

8th grade: Best Boy Film Reflection: One page typed! double spaced, due tomorrow!

7th grade: Type 100 words, double spaced, about your SSR. Focus on one element of plot: exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, or resolution. Due tomorrow!

6th grade: Answer the questions on p. 9 "Academic Vocabulary" (green worksheet) on a piece of composition paper in complete sentences. Number your paper from 1 to 8. The questions are found on the right side of the chart, beginning with "If someone asked you about the PLOT of the story...." due tomorrow!
