8th: Finish all parts of the TEST READY workbook and the additional handout for NJASK practice.
7th: Finish your TEST READY workbook and complete the practice reading comprehension for NJASK on "The Sea" and "Winter Dog".
6th: Read thoroughly and complete packets "Making Inferences" & "Distinguishing Facts from Opinions". Be prepared for a quiz on Monday on which you will be asked to practice these skills.

All grades: Vocabulary Lesson 27 is due on Tuesday, April 26!

8th: Choose one quote from your quotation packet and write an essay about it. You may also write about your graduation quote, if you prefer. Follow the directions on the handout:
"Famous Quotes that Stick"
Choose a graduation quote and type it into the online form by clicking the cap on this page. Take notes for your research paper if possible.
7th: Work on your Independent Reading Book packet -- fill in at least one page of the vocabulary log and begin to fill in the Character description chart/page. If you don't have your packet at home, just write down the words on a separate piece of paper!:)
6th: "Simile and Metaphors" packet. The first draft of your research report is due on Thursday, April 28, so if you want to start typing it up, using your notecard packet, just get started! :)

8th: Topics are due for your research paper, hand in your "Exploring 3 possible topics" worksheet (fill in 3 topics that you've learned about). Complete the review questions for the Dodgeball articles, on the handout.
7th: "No Man is an Island" fill in the quotation interpretation page.
6th: Continue working on your notecard packet. The entire packet will be due on Thursday. Complete the worksheet practice with transitions and commas. Rewrite the words of "The Eagle" by Alfred Lord Tennyson.

Analyze the first quote by filling in all of the boxes on the chart completely: "There was never any honey made with just one bee in the hive"

HOLISTIC SPRING WRITING ASSESSMENT: FRIDAY APRIL 8 (All grades, all teachers & their classes)
8th: choose a question to answer for the film version of TKAM. Prepare for the Socratic Seminar on Thursday by locating quotations/evidence from the novel to support your point of view.
7th: Complete the graphic organizer, listing the reasons both authors used to support their position on athletes salaries.
6th: Take notes for one sub-topic, filling 3 sides of the notecard packet. Bring all of your sources to class tomorrow. We will review Vocab Lesson 25 tomorrow.
