Due to scheduling conflicts with activity photos on Friday, the vocabulary test for grades 6 & 8 is now rescheduled for Monday, January 30.

8th: Finish reading Anne Frank's diary. Complete the 4 writing tasks (min of 150 words each). Complete the reflection log on Anne Frank (choose quotation and interpret).
7th: Your typed sentence outline (follow the example in your Wax Museum guidebook) is due on Tuesday. You will be graded on FORMAT and CONTENT.
6th: Paragraphing Packet - p. 38 --choose one of the "weak" paragraphs and write a new one about the same topic! Type your paragraph, it's due on Monday! (first page of the packet)

All grades: Friday, January 27 : Vocabulary Test 15/16

8th: Finish reading Anne Frank's diary. Reflection charts and 4 writing selections, will be due on Tuesday, January 31.

7th: Continue reading and taking notes on your Wax Museum subject. Outlines are due on Tuesday, January 31.

6th: Pandora's Box project is due Friday. Write a well-organized paragraph, glue it onto your box, decorate your box with colorful images representing the virtue you chose to represent.

All grades: The Midyear English Assessment, Monday January 23 will include the cumulative vocabulary from Lessons 8-15 in the Vocabulary for Achievement workbook. Cut out the flashcards in the back of the book for drill and practice this weekend.

8th: Study the Holocaust background notes, charts, and handouts. There are 10 questions on this topic. You will also be asked to read two interesting articles about the Holocaust and respond to 20 questions about the readings.
7th: Re-read the "Eleanor Roosevelt" biography article, annotate, and reflect. One section of the exam will relate to understanding the main ideas and details of her life.
6th: Review your notes and exam sheet, re-read the assigned myths in "Heroes Gods and Monsters". Study the 12 god and goddesses. Review the cultural values of the Greeks. Review the characteristics of myths.

8th: Read to p. 80 in Anne Frank by Thursday. Fill in the character charts with 3 details for each of the main characters.
7th: Continue working on your Wax Museum notecards.
6th: Read the inspiring quotes by Dr Martin Luther King Jr. Choose one. Interpret it's meaning and explain why it inspires you. (100 words or more)

8th: "Your Character Meets My Character" skit will be performed on Tuesday, Jan 17. Read pp. 22-49 in the diary of Anne Frank by Wednesday and fill in the character attribute charts for at least four additional characters.

7th: Write your thesis statement. Continue reading on your Wax Museum topic. You should read at least 2 hours over the long weekend break.
