I hope everyone has a wonderful, warm and worthwhile spring break! Enjoy! !!!!

All grades: Bring your ORGANIZED binder to class on Tuesday --- I will check it -- this counts toward your PMG grade! -

Just so you don't become bored over vacation, I thought I'd give you something to do...so this work will be due on Wednesday, April 11:
8th: Complete the practice reading comprehension exercises up to p. 138 in your Everyday Text packet.
7th: Read and complete all questions for the articles about "Bike Safety" and "Food Safety" in your practice packet.
6th: Great job on your chapter summaries projects on Friday! HW: Complete the practice activities in the "Drawing Conclusions" packet. You will practice with maps, and labels, and much more! It's fun! (I recommend completing one page per day -- each page only takes about 10 minutes)

Grade 8: No HW this week, exams.

7th: Wax Museum tomorrow ! Rehearse!!!!! Film permission forms are due!
6th: Read Ch. 8 by Monday. You will be given class time on Monday to complete the questions for this chapter. Bring your chapter 7 "Big" questions to class on Monday. Good job! Your exam is Wednesday, March 28, it includes vocabulary from Lessons 16 -24.

All grades!! Study Vocabulary Lessons 16-24 for your Quarter 3 Assessment.

8th grade: Your YES TEST, final draft of the research paper, is due on Wednesday, March 21.
Your final unit test on To Kill a Mockingbird: Friday, March 23.
7th grade: Read persuasive articles on athlete's salaries in your online textbook pp. 920-924, complete the comma worksheet in the packet.
6th: Finish the questions for the chapter entitled "BIG" in Chew On This. Your exam is March 28.

Quarter 3 ENGLISH EXAMS:
All exams will include vocabulary from Lessons 16-24!!!

8th: Read Ch. 26-30 in TKAM over the weekend. The revision of your research paper is due for the YES TEST, to your English teacher on Thursday, March 22. Your Quarter 3 exam is scheduled for next Friday, March 23 - the exam will cover vocabulary lessons 16-24 plus a novel test on To Kill A Mockingbird.
7th: Practice your Wax Museum monologues, be ready for your performance on Thursday next week!
6th: Read Ch. 7 by Wednesday of next week. Update your Chew On This vocabulary log, and answer three questions for the assigned chapter by Wednesday.

7th: Review the study guide for the Outsiders test on Friday.
6th: Read "Meat" in Chew On This" by Friday. Bring your questions for "Stop the Pop" to class tomorrow. You will also present your advertising poster to the class.

All grades: Vocabulary lesson 23 is due Tuesday, March 13.

8th: The first draft of your research paper is due on Tuesday, March 13. Please read Ch. 19-21 in TKAM by Monday.

7th: Finish reading the Outsiders and choose two discussion questions from Ch. 11 & 12 to answer in your notebooks. Answer in paragraph form. Memorize your full Wax Museum monologue by next week- you will NOT be permitted to use notes. Your Wax Museum poster is due on Tuesday, March 13.

6th: Read Ch. 5 "Stop the Pop" in CHEW ON THIS and complete 3 discussion questions. Complete your food diary and advertising poster by Monday.

Grades 7 & 8 : Writer's Notebook Check tomorrow, Monday, March 5. Please display 16 entries, counting back to the last Writer's Notebook check. Your work should be legible. Your writing should demonstrate that you use your "writing time" in class productively. Make sure you write the date on the page every time you write.

8th: Read and highlight the Jim Crow article. Read Ch. 12-14 in TKAM. Works Cited Page and Note taking Packet #2 are due on Tuesday.
7th: Read Ch. 9 & 10 in the Outsiders by Monday.
6th: Read Chapter 3 in Chew On This and follow the guidelines for the vocabulary log and discussion questions on p. 312. Keep up with the food diary every day until Friday (it is due Friday). Your advertising poster is due Thursday. Your paragraph should describe your entire poster: the images, slogan, product choice, and advertising techniques (underline each technique) in your narrative.
