To any parents who check my blog...... I read an incredible war novel over the Memorial Day weekend entitled 'The Yellow Birds" by Kevin Powers ------- be prepared to be blown away.  I dare to say it's on par with "Farewell to Arms" and "All Quiet on the Western Front" and echoes Tim O'Brien's "The Things They Carried"  --- not to be missed but also not for the faint hearted.
