  • Vocabulary Lessons 7 & 8 due Tues., 11/4

8th Grade:
  • See above for all classes 
  • "Whispers From the Grave" read and complete "Read, Think, Explain" analysis for Friday., 10/31
  • Poe Unit:
    • Read through lines for play; be prepared with props/costumes etc. for Fri., 10/31

    • Kevin Pyle HW (only for students in the Kevin Pyle workshop group)
      Grades 7-8 finish the character sheet and do a comic of a dream their character might have. It can be a fantasy, scary, absurd whatever but it should draw on some of the details in the character sheet so it is unique to your character!!
      Read "Take What you Can Carry".  Answer the following question in 250 words or more. Be prepared to discuss your responses with the group.  
      What is the role of art-making in Ken's (the Japanese boy) life? Is there an indication that it will have a similar role in Kyle's?
7th Grade:

    • First Draft- complete- due Fri., 10/31

    • Bring in one source (printed out source, based on social studies teacher suggestions) on Monday!
    • Complete all pages of the Story Pre-writing packet (not the optional story board) by Friday, 10/31
  • Book Talk/Plot Poster Project:
    • Project/Presentation due Mon., 11/3
