Kevin Pyle's visit was a blast!  You will share your reaction to the following question upon returning to school on Monday:  "Is it more cool to care about nothing,...or to care about something?"  this question is based on the experiences of "Katman", who began to reconsider his decision to take care of stray cats......

All Classes:
  • Vocab Lesson 4 is due on Tuesday, October 6.  Vocab. Test on Lessons 3  & 4 is Thursday, October 8.
8th Grade:
  • See above for all classes 
  • Review the story "The Tell Tale Heart" with the help of the study guide questions.  Complete # 16,17 in paragraph form,  plus #19 is a one sentence response.
7th Grade: 
  • See above for all classes 
  • Complete all remaining Malala activities in the packet distributed in class on Thursday. 
  • Complete the "parts of speech review" pages in the handout (challenge work: the crossword puzzle is optional, but try it!) Due Thursday.  
  • Complete all assigned work for Chapter 5 & 6 of "The Dressmaker of Khair Khana" (see the study packet for directions and expectations) by Monday, October 5. 
  • Complete the DIAMANTE poem by Monday.  The assignment is attached to the last page of the parts of speech packet.  
6th Grade:
  • Book Talk/Plot Poster Project Upcoming: (you get to choose an SSR for this project!)
    • Book selection due Mon., 10/6 (no books that are movies unless teacher approved in advance)
  • Read Ch. 11-15 in "Freak the Mighty" by Friday.  
  • Complete all assigned activities in the "Ghost of the Lagoon" packet (skipping charts on first two pages of the packet). 
  • Kevin (Freak) loves the Arthurian myths because they represent heroic deeds and amazing adventures. Review the King Arthur story and informational article in the packet.  Use your notes from the film to compare the information from all 3 sources (story, article, and film clip) Fill in the comparison chart on the back page of the King Arthur packet.
