8th Grade:
  • Read pp. 4-5 in the TKAM packet and complete p. 6 and 7!
  • Complete pp. 86-95 in the PARCC workbook (green)
  • Read, annotate, and highlight the Articles # 5 & 6 by Friday, March 13 in the Civil Rights packet. There will be an assessment on Articles #1-6 on Friday. 
7th Grade: 
  • Print your "Crispin" narrative continuation story and bring to class on Wednesday. 
  • Complete pp.41-49 in the blue PARCC workbook, due Wednesday, March 11.
  • Review p. 496 "The Only Girl for Me" and "Breaking the Ice". Read the directions on p. 507 for writing a Literary Analysis of these stories.  
              In "The Only Girl for Me" and "Breaking the Ice" the authors retell the stories of their first dates through humor.  However, the stories are told differently.  In your essay, compare and contrast these two selections, focusing on how the author develops the tone in the story. (200 min.- 350 words maximum)
  • Introduction:  State the thesis, Include the titles and refer to the question for your focus.
  • Body Paragraph #1: "The Only Girl" + Topic Sentence, connect to thesis + 2 pieces of text evidence 
  • Body Paragraph #2  "Breaking the Ice" + Topic Sentence, connect to thesis + 2 pieces of text evidence
  • Conclusion: Restate the thesis, includes the titles and share a final insight. 
6th grade:  Your research in action project enrollment form must be shared to me on Drive by next Monday, March 16.
