All Grades:  

1. All Parent Student Procedural Forms are due no later than Friday, September 11.  

2. Decorate your Writer's Notebook with at least 6 colorful images to represent yourself. Due Tuesday, September 15. 

3. Select a book (no film titles) to read in your free time, show it to me in class on Friday, Sept 11. 

4. Create your Membean student account using the correct grade level class codes above this post.  Once you sign in, you will be prompted to enter your password. Use the lunch code followed by the letter c. Next, you'll see your user name and you are ready to Calibrate.   

Example: elizabeth_grimaldi_cranbury (first name, underscore, last name, underscore, cranbury)  

You may click "Calibrate Now" and follow the directions CAREFULLY, to find your vocabulary learning level. 

Grade 7 & 8 Only 

5. Choose one book on your Reading Timeline and write at least 100 words in which you describe the effect this book had on your life.  Use "strong verbs" on p 18 of the English Tool Kit (packet distributed in class)  underline the strong verbs in your paragraph.  Print it and bring it to class. 

Grade 6 Only 

Using the "Feelings" list on p. 27 of the English Tool Kit (packet distributed in class), write a paragraph explaining your feelings about the first day of school.  Use at least 4-5 feelings words and underline these words in your paragraph.  Your paragraph must be typed and printed.  Your paragraph must have at least 100 words in it. (Tip: use the word count feature on your computer!)
