1. Locate a book source on your Wax Museum subject and bring it to class on Jan 3
2. Print 3 articles (one must come from NY Times, Time Archive or Newsweek archive.
3. Read a lot about your subject and fill in the outline form, tracing the basic facts of this person's life.

6th: Complete the vocabulary practice Exercise A only on pp. 58 & 59 of the packet about Apollo's Tree.

7th: Complete the graphic organizer for "Ghosts of the Past". You will write about your regret in class tomorrow, and create a vivid picture of your imaginary ghost.
6th: Read pp. 6-14 in Heroes, Gods & Monsters. Write 3 fascinating facts about both myths. (total of 6)

7th: Your fictional narrative is due tomorrow. Attach the graphic organizer, draft cover sheet, peer editing worksheets (green) and your drafts. At least one draft must be marked with the opening strategy # and the sensory imagery target areas. You should also demonstrate correct dialogue format, and use interesting tag lines! Read Stave 4 by Thursday.
6th: Read the Greek History and Culture packet, answer all the questions in complete sentences.

Remember $2 for the secret FUND....hint hint

8th: Find examples of humor in Stave 2. Prepare for quiz on Stave 2 on Monday. Read ahead, the entire story must be completed by Monday Dec 20.
7th: fill in the Sensory Imagery chart for Stave 2 in the Christmas Carol, # 1 & 2. Read Stave 3 by Tuesday. Complete the Frequently Confused Words packet by Monday, Dec 17. (15 pts) Quiz on these words is Tuesday.
6th: Study the 12 major gods/goddesses of Greek Mythology, they are called the "Pantheon". You must know the names of the gods and their most important "job". Ex: Zeus was the King of the gods. Athena was the goddess of wisdom......Quiz is on Tuesday for all of these gods and their jobs.

BRING IN $2 FOR THE "GENERAL FUND" (hint: Dec 17)
All grades: Vocabulary Lesson 11 due tomorrow.

8th: Read the entire packet of information on the life of Charles Dickens. There will be a quiz on the facts tomorrow. Visit the BBC website, and watch the video on his life. In addition, play the game that takes you through the streets of London (it's a link from the BBC page). Fill in the worksheet completely.
7th; Complete your Fictional Narrative. Attach all drafts and the rubric. Fill in the holiday worksheet.
6th: Write a complete theme sentence for each of the six topics from "When my Name is Keoko". The test on the novel is Wednesday.
